Having crossed the country to the Sea of Japan side, we are now at Awazu Onsen near Kanazawa. 
Awazu Onsen is a small hot spring resort that grew around a hot spring that was discovered by a priest around 717 - nearly 1300 years ago. The Ryokan (Inn) dates from the same period
