日光

Today we are in Nikko, which is in the mountains just north of Tokyo.
Nikko is famous as the place where the first Tokugawa shogun is interred. The shrine that houses his mausoleum is beautifully decorated although his actual mausoleum is quite plain and located in a secluded forest. The bridge that leads to the shrine, Shinkyo, predates the shrine and is famous in its own right.
